Directions: From Liberia Airport -Take the main Highway to 'Tamarindo' on the Pacific Coast. Once you get to the turn to Tamarindo keep driving passed it to 'Playa Avellanas' which is 12 km further. In 3 km you come to a Right turn that has signs of "Hacienda Pinilla'. Take right there (the crossing is called 'Hernandez'. Pass Hacienda Pinilla entrance and you have 8 km to go. Go through small town of Pinilla and you are 3 km from Avellanas. You will see signs for 'Villas Kaiki' in Pinilla. Make a Left at the small public road before Cabias Las Olas. (If you get to the entrance of Las Olas you just missed it - back up. Turn left at the next road; keep on straight: Kaiki is on the right side 75 m down the road. |
Directions: From San Jose-Take highway to San Ramon from the Airport away from the City. Follow the main highway toward Puntarenas. Eventually you are on the Central American Highway 1. Keep on this Hwy going toward 'Liberia'. Before you get to 'Canas' you come to a large intersection with a gas station and a two large restaurants/rest stops at the corners. Take a Left here to go to 'Nicoya' and 'Santa Cruz' via the 'Puente de la Amistad' built by Taiwan (friendship bridge). From here you pass Nicoya and Santa Cruz and keep following the signs that say 'Playa Avellanas' or 'Tamarindo'. After Santa Cruz you have 45 to 60+ min. left depending on the road quality. The paved road stops at 'Vientisiete de Abril'; stay on the dirt road until you get to a small crossing called 'Hernandez'. There you make a Left; there are signs at this corner that say 'Hacienda Pinilla' and 'Playa Avellanas'. On the corner there is a Bar called 'La Media Vuelta' (the Half Turn) Pass Hacienda Pinilla entrance and you have 8 km to go. Go through small town of Pinilla and you are 3 km from Avellanas. You will see signs for 'Villas Kaiki' in Pinilla. Make a Left at the small public road before Cabias Las Olas. (If you get to the entrance of Las Olas you just missed it - back up. Go one block and turn left at the next road; keep on straight: Kaiki is on the right side 75 m down the road. |
